Welcome to The Weekly Sneaker Pulse, Deal Reaper's Sunday roundup for resellers and collectors. This edition covers Monday, August 24 through Sunday, August 30, 2026 (week ending August 30), with release times in Eastern Time unless noted. Sneaker resale market trends in 2026 turned defensive again: Dick's Sporting Goods flagged an increasingly promotional footwear market on August 25, while Mamba Day restocks, Awake NY x Air Jordan 6 Blueberry, and Nike Vapor X Foamposite drops kept launch-week volume high.
Week at a glance
- August 24: Nike restocked 14 Kobe Protros on SNKRS at 11:24 AM ET for Mamba Day, including Caitlin Clark and Jalen Brunson PEs (Sneaker Bar Detroit).
- August 24: Awake NY dropped its AJ6 apparel capsule at 9:00 AM EDT. Bubblegum Pink pickup winners collected pairs at 10:00 AM EDT.
- August 25: Dick's Sporting Goods reported Q2 earnings and cut full-year guidance. Shares fell more than 20% on promotional footwear pressure and weak Foot Locker retro performance.

- August 29: Air Jordan 8 Retro "Chrome" (305381-007, $215) returned at 10:00 AM ET in full family sizing (SI Fannation).

Releases & restocks
Mamba Day floods SNKRS (August 24)
Monday opened with Nike's annual 8/24 restock wave:
- 14 Kobe pairs: Sole Retriever lists Caitlin Clark Kobe 5 Indiana Fever, Scrabble, and ROTY PEs, plus her Kobe 6 Light Armory Blue, Jalen Brunson Kobe 5 NY vs NY, Kobe 8 Halo and Siempre Hermanos, Kobe 11 Fade to Black and Mamba Day, and Kobe Air Force 1 City of Champions.
- Drop time: Sneaker Bar Detroit confirms 11:24 AM ET on SNKRS, timed to Bryant's 8 and 24 jersey numbers.
- Reseller angle: Mamba Day restocks rarely hold secondary premiums past 48 hours. Pull sold data on your size before you list Clark PEs at first-drop ask levels.
Awake NY apparel and pickup day (August 24)
Monday also closed the Awake NY AJ6 weekend:
- Apparel capsule: Hypebeast documents tracksuits and polos in Saffiano leather at 9:00 AM EDT online and in-store.
- Bubblegum Pink pickup: Winners from the August 23 EQL collected IQ5706-600 pairs at 10:00 AM EDT per Sneaker Bar Detroit.
- Reseller angle: Bubblegum stayed Awake-exclusive. Inventory from pickup day is the only retail lane. Secondary spreads should widen against Blueberry, which went global five days later.
Dick's earnings shock footwear (August 25)
Tuesday delivered the week's biggest macro headline:
- Q2 miss: WWD reports net sales of $5.59 billion against $5.65 billion estimates. Adjusted EPS landed at $3.53 versus $3.76 expected.
- Promotional warning: Executive chairman Ed Stack said portions of the athletic footwear market became "increasingly promotional" as Q2 progressed (PR Newswire).
- Foot Locker drag: Pro forma comps at the Foot Locker segment fell 3.6%. Fewer launches and weaker retro sell-through compressed margins.
- Reseller angle: Retail promo pressure usually shows up in GR retro asks before it hits collab heat. Watch AJ8 Chrome and Blueberry sold filters through Labor Day weekend.
Blueberry goes global (August 29)
Saturday brought Angelo Baque's wider AJ6 window:
- Awake NY x Air Jordan 6 "Blueberry" (IQ5706-400, $230): Sneaker Bar Detroit confirms 25,000 pairs globally across SNKRS and Jordan NBHD doors. Suede upper in layered blues with Saffiano overlays and Infrared accents.
- Prior Awake window: The same colorway debuted through Awake NY's August 23 EQL. Global stock is split between remaining raffle inventory and fresh allocation.
- Reseller angle: SiteSupply tracked StockX from $258 with a $433 last sale pre-global. List after sold data populates post-SNKRS.
AJ8 Chrome third act (August 29)
Saturday also revived an early-2000s staple:
- Air Jordan 8 Retro "Chrome" (305381-007, $215): Nice Kicks lists Black/Chrome blocking. SI Fannation schedules 10:00 AM ET on SNKRS, Foot Locker, Champs, and Hibbett.
- Family sizing: Adult $215, GS $165, PS $105, TD $90 per SI.
- Release history: Prior retail cycles landed in 2003 and 2015. This is the third retail run.
- Reseller angle: Third-time AJ8 retros often sit near retail within a week when Dick's-type promo pressure is active. Size 14 is the comp priority on nostalgia pairs.
Vapor X Posite double close (August 30)
Sunday ended August with two Foamposite-tennis hybrids:
- Nike Air Zoom Vapor X Foamposite "Copper" (AO8760-900, $170): SneakerPing tracked pre-release averages near $345 on August 27 data, roughly 103% above $170 tag.
- Nike Air Zoom Vapor X Foamposite "Habanero Red" (AO8760-600, $170): SneakerPing pegs pre-release averages near $305, about 79% over retail.
- Calendar context: WWD's August guide frames Nike's push to make tennis silhouettes resale-relevant again.
- Reseller angle: Three Vapor x Posite colorways already dropped August 17. A fourth and fifth SKU same month usually cannibalize launch-week premiums. Compare against Eggplant and Metallic Red Bronze sold lines before you anchor asks.
Resale market & pricing moves
Market health hit a quarterly low: SneakerPing's index read 100.23 on August 23, flat week over week. Health score fell to 21.83/100, the weakest reading this quarter. 57.1% of tracked pairs trade below retail.
Below-retail remains the default: SneakerPing's August 18 report still shows 59.5% of 3,538 releases trading under tag. Jordan leads the downside at 70.7% below retail across 605 pairs.
Kobe 10 Halo settles into a modest lane: SneakerPing tracks $249 averages against $180 retail on August 25 data, a 38% premium with 59 sales in 30 days. Worth It Score sits at 5.2/10. Birthday heat without moon-shot margins.
Blueberry carries collab spread: SiteSupply lists StockX from $258 with a $433 last sale ahead of the global drop. 25,000 pairs is limited for a worldwide SNKRS window, not scarce enough to ignore fee math.
Vapor X Posite Copper projects a soft landing: SneakerPing forecasts $277 over 30 days with medium confidence against $345 pre-release asks. Same-day August 17 trilogy supply is the drag.
Retail promo signal matters: Dick's Q2 call expects aggressive legacy footwear discounting through at least Q4 2026. GR retro asks often compress before collab pairs move. Cross-check StockX, GOAT, and eBay in one pass with our sneaker resale price tracker before you anchor Labor Day weekend lists.
Platforms, policy & tools
Dick's warning ripples through wholesale: Reuters via MarketScreener notes Foot Locker's dependence on launch and retro product. Fewer hit launches in Q2 performed below expectations. Resellers holding GR Jordan inventory should expect more retail markdowns through fall.
StockX midyear data still favors skate and retro: StockX's Big Facts report ranks Saucony +239% and Vans +238% as fastest-growing sneaker brands H1 2026. Jordan sits +6% in sales volume. Retros like AJ5 Wolf Grey and AJ4 Black Cat led Jordan trades.
Where to list this week's heat: Our StockX vs GOAT breakdown still frames verified deadstock above $200 on StockX, flexible $150+ self-ship on eBay Authenticity Guarantee, and GOAT for used-inventory lanes. $230 Blueberry pairs belong on verified deadstock. $170 Vapor x Posite pairs often net better on eBay's sneaker fee tier when asks sit near retail.
Mamba Day restock comp noise: Fourteen SKUs dropping same hour floods secondary with identical size runs. Filter sold by colorway before you price Clark Kobe 5 versus Brunson Kobe 5. Track the full pipeline on a sneaker reseller app session, not launch-morning screenshots.

Culture, collabs & headlines
Caitlin Clark owns Mamba Day: Sole Retriever frames Clark's four PE restocks as the headline of August 24. Her signature Caitlin 1 arrives later in 2026. Nike is building a full Clark footwear lane on Kobe silhouettes first.
Awake NY caps a year-long AJ6 tease: Sneaker Bar Detroit notes Angelo Baque teased the collab for over a year before the August 23 EQL. Blueberry at 25,000 pairs outproduced Bubblegum at 10,000, but global allocation still splits fast.
Dick's Foot Locker integration hits friction: WWD reports Foot Locker operating loss guidance of $80 million to $40 million for fiscal 2026, a sharp reversal from prior profit expectations. Launch-dependent retail and resale both feel fewer retro wins.
Nike pushes tennis into resale: WWD's August calendar calls the Vapor X Posite program an effort to make court silhouettes hot again. Foamposite uppers on a tennis low is a bold bet in a 59.5% below-retail market.
Kobe 10 Halo extends the tribute line: WWD notes more Kobe 10 Protro mesh colorways through 2026, plus Flyknit and ZoomX builds in 2027. Birthday-week asks on Halo often deflate once the next colorway calendars.
